Our expert staff can help design a mowing program that will help give your property the greatest look possible. We have all types of mowing programs available. A typical mowing schedule is based on an eight-month season, beginning April 1 and ending in November. The following are a few examples of what our mow crews accomplish: picking up all trash, sticks and other lawn debris before mowing, the spraying of turf around the bases of all stationary objects to keep tall grass from growing, weedeating sidewalks, ditches and hillsides, inspect all landscape beds for weeds and other grasses during each visit.

Fertilization Programs
Keller Farms offers fertilization programs that will provide the sufficient amount of vital nutrients required by turf grass to keep it healthy, green and free of weed type grasses for both irrigated and non-irrigated turf. Our technicians keep a sharp eye on the changing weather conditions throughout the summer growing season in case any changes need to be made to the fertilization program. Top of Page
Broadleaf Crabgrass Control
Keller Farms Landscape & Nursery uses environmentally tested and safe herbicides on all broadleaf/crab grass control applications. Broadleaf weeds consist of dandelions, ground ivy, knotweed, clovers, etc. When sprayed at an early age, broadleaf weeds are kept under control. A minimum of two seperate applications typically controls most broadleaf weed problems. Top of Page
Aeration
Keller Farms provides Aeration services between the months of October and December for Fall service and in February and March for Spring service. By aerating the turf, cores of soil are spread across the surface of the turf, inoculating the thatch. This creates conditions that are conducive to the decomposition of thatch. Other benefits of aeration include: increased aeration of the soil, root development and increased water filtration. Top of Page
Spring/Fall Cleanup
Spring clean-ups are performed between March 1st and and June 30th. Depending on your needs, a clean-up program can be customized to suit your needs. The following is an example of a typical Spring clean-up:
- All leaves, sticks and other Winter debris will be removed from landscaping beds.
- All shrubs trees (not pruned in the fall) and ground cover, etc., will be trimmed and pruned.
- An edge will be cut around all trees and bed lines. The soil will be turned into beds or removed if needed.
- A pre-emergent grass/weed control is applied to all beds. All existing weeds will be fertilizer sprayed with a post emergent herbicide.
- A mild tree and plant food is then applied and followed by a 1-2" layer of shredded hardwood.
- The clean-up consists of removal of leaves and other debris from planting beds and lawn areas as needed during Fall months. Top of Page

Insect Control
Some landscape material is very susceptible to insect damage: ornamental trees, evergreens and deciduous shrubs. April, May and June are the most active months for most destructive insects (Tent Caterpillars, Leafminer, Bagworms, Cankerworms, Japanese Beetles,etc.). Properties are monitored on a regular basis to watch out for any disease or insects. When such destructive insects appear, immediate action is taken and sprays are applied. Top of Page
Tree and Plant Care
Keller Farms plant health care program can be customized to meet the needs of your plant material. In most cases, plants are treated in two separate applications. The first application contols over-wintering insects and/or eggs, preventing them from causing future damage to plants and trees before and after growth begins. The second application usually occurs during the late summer months to prevent insects like bagworms, scale webworms, mites, etc.
- Keller Farms employs experienced and licensed personnel to apply most types of pesticides to your property. Top of Page
